Fly Along a Satellite as it Sweeps the Earth

NASA has updated its “Eyes on the Earth 3D” browser-based application. This online experience now allows you to view the latest data beamed back from NASA’s 15 operating Earth-observing satellites.
These satellites constantly monitor the Earth’s vital signs, which include: the oceans, concentration of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere, global temperatures, sea ice and many other details of our planet that affect our lives.
There is also a new online game called Metropolis, which shows a view of the Earth with surface features hidden under a data map. The map shows global carbon dioxide distribution around the world. Your goal is to find all 10 major cities in the world as quickly as you can, while erasing as little of the map as possible.
To participate on this new online application, visit NASA’s “Eyes on the Earth 3D” here.
